The Problem
Daikin has discovered that there is the potential for the circuit board in the outdoor unit of the above model numbers to overheat. This overheating could produce smoke and possibly distort the cover around the unit. The overheating is a rare occurrence, with just six cases reported among approximately 24,000 units, but our first priority is the safety of our customers. In our customers' best interests, we have initiated a safety related rectification work programme to prevent this occurring.
The Fix
The rectification will be carried out, at Daikin's expense, and involves:
The time required to complete this modification is estimated at 45-60 minutes.
What to do?
If you are an affected customer you should have received a letter from Daikin notifying you of the required work. Please register with them using the REGISTRATION link on http://www.daikinregister.com.au/
If you have not received a letter but think that this work should apply to your air conditioning unit, please contact us on the details below.
In the meantime, IF YOUR AIR CONDITIONING UNIT TRIPS THE CIRCUIT BREAKER OR FUSES, THEN YOU SHOULD NOT RESET THE CIRCUIT BREAKER OR FUSE, OR ATTEMPT TO OPERATE THE UNIT AND YOU SHOULD CONTACT DAIKIN IMMEDIATELY.
