The Toshiba DC Inverter digitally controls the capacity supplied by the air conditioner, by modifying the electricity supply current frequency or intensity, to insure a smooth rotation speed or capacity of the compressor. This allows precise matching of the cooling or heating capacities to the actual operating conditions. When the room temperature is set far from the set point (required temperature), the DC Hybrid Inverter operates at maximum capacity to ensure the set temperature is reached quickly.
Once the desired temperature is has been reached, the Inverter precisely adjusts the capacity to maintain the temperature close to the set point.

Inverter technology is the latest technology available in air conditioners, combined with the Toshiba hybrid inverter generates more power and has precise control for maximum comfort.
At start up, the pulse Amplitude Modulator (PAM) sets the compressor at maximum power, providing fast cooling or heating as required, to achieve the desired room set temperature. The Pulse Width Modulator (PWM) engages automatically to ensure the desired room temperature is maintained evenly. This results in savings in power consumption which means energy cost savings.
Zero Ozone Depletion
The Toshiba range of products includes a wide choice of units that operate on the R-410A refrigerant. R-410A is a non-ozone depleting refrigerant that meets the strict requirements of the Montreal Protocol. This protocol required a move away from ozone depleting refrigerants to those which have a Zero Ozone Depletion Potential, or ODP as it is referred to within the Air Conditioning industry. In 1999 Toshiba was the first air conditioning manufacturer to launch a product range with non-ozone depleting refrigerant.
R-410A is a higher efficiency refrigerant than others on the market. In fact, R-410A is up to 12% more efficient than R-407C, and up to 16% more efficient than Freon R-22.
